Sightings for Wednesday February 8th

Sainte-Catherine: Before noon the Recre-O-Parc was again productive. Gadwall male and two male Northern pintail are still present, as are the two adult Bald Eagles on the Ile aux Herons.

Among the many Common goldeneye, I located a male Barrow's goldeneye and two hybrid Barrow's goldeneye X Common goldeneye.
The four male Ring-necked duck persist, and I was surprised to find so many Greater Scaup, two males and five females.

L'avant-midi au Récré-O-Parc de Sainte-Catherine a de nouveau été productif. Le Canard chipeau mâle et les deux mâles de Canard pilet sont encore présents, ainsi que les deux adultes de Pygargue à tête blanche sur l'Île-aux-Hérons.



Parmi les nombreux Garrots à oeil d'or, j'ai localisé un mâle de Garrot d'Islande et deux hybrides Garrot d'Islande x Garrots à oeil d'or.


Les quatre mâles de Fuligule à collier persistent, et j'ai été surpris de trouver autant de Fuligule milouinan, soit deux mâles et au moins cinq femelles. - Raymond Belhumeur

St-Stanislas de Kostka: At the mouth of the Beauharnois Canal at Hungry Bay it There was the Common loon near the shore. In the center of the channel I also spotted Long-tailed duck amongst some Common Goldeneye. There were also many Common mergansers.

l'embouchure du canal Beauharnois à Hungry baie il y avait le plongeon huard près du bord.  Au centre du canal j'ai aussi repéré un Harelde kakawi parmi quelques garrots à oeil d'or. Il y avait aussi beaucoup de grands harles. - Michel Juteau
