Sightings for Friday February 3rd

Sainte-Catherine, Recre-O-Parc:  Two adult Bald Eagles are always perched on Ile aux Herons.

On the ducks side, there were: Gadwall (1), Northern Pintail (2 males), Greater Scaup (a female), Ring-necked Duck (5 males together), Common Merganser (25), Black duck (15), Mallard (150 +), Common Goldeneye (100 +), Barrow's goldeneye (2 males + 1 female), Hybrid Barrow's Goldeneye x Common Goldeneye (1)

Récré-O-Parc de Sainte-Catherine et deux adultes de Pygargue à tête blanche étaient toujours perchés sur l'Île-aux-Hérons.

Côté canards, il y avait :Chipeau (1), Pilet (2 mâles), Fuligule milouinan (1 femelle), Fuligule à collier (5 mâles ensemble), Grand Harle (25), Noir (15), Colvert (150+), Garrot à oeil d'or (100+), Garrot d'Islande (2 mâles + 1 femelle), Hybride Garrot d'Islande x Garrot à oeil d'or (1)

St-Clet: There are still two Snowy Owls (Harfang des neiges) around St-Clet, they are always a bit distant though and usually visible off Ste-Julie or Ste-Marie. Not much else in the fields but a Northern Gray Shrike (Pie-grièche grise) was giving a House Sparrow (Moineau domestique) a hard time near the Pinade at St-Lazare. - Mark Dennis
