Sightings for Friday May 13th

Pincourt: Cape May Warbler (Paruline tigrée), I have never seen this bird around my area before but this fellow has been around my front yard for the past couple of days. I have also seen 8 Yellow Rumped Warblers (Paruline à croupion jaune), 2 Ruby Crowned Kinglets (Roitelet à Couronne rubis), 1 Fox Sparrow (Bruant fauve) and the first Ruby Throated Hummingbird (Colibri à gorge rubis) of the season. Westmount: There is a SUMMER TANAGER at Summit Park. He keeps center of the park with a female tanager. He is accompanied by a group of 4 male Scarlet tanagers and a female who might be a female Summer Tanager as there not alot of difference between the two.

Il y a un PIRANGA VERMILLON au parc Summit. Il se tient au centre du parc avec une femelle Piranga. Il est accompagné d'un groupe de 4 Pirangas écarlates mâle et une femelle qui pourrait peut-être être la femelle du Piranga Vermillon, il y a pas gros de différence entre les deux. - Charles Ménard, J. Montréal, Botanical Gardens: WarblersYellow-rumped , Chestnut-sided, Tennessee, Northern parula, Yellow, Black-throated blue, Black and white, Ovenbird, Common yellow-throat,  Nashville, Palm and the Canada Warbler. Other observers I met there have even found 15 species, including Cape May, Blackburnian and American redstart. I also saw two Scarlet Tanagers 2 sp. of Thrushes: Veery and Swainson's Thrush and 3 sp. of  Vireos: Blue-headed,Red-eyed and Warbling.

With migratory birds more common my list was 52 sp.

Jardin Botanique: Parulines - à croupion jaune, à flancs, marron, obscure, à collier, jaune, bleu, noir et blanc, la couronnée, masquée, à joues grises, couronne rousse et Paruline du Canada. D'autres observateurs rencontrés là en ont même observé 15 espèces, dont entre autre tigrée, gorge orangée et flamboyante. J'ai aussi vu 2 esp. de grives: Grive fauve et la Grive à dos olive et 3 esp. de Viréos: à tête bleue, mélodieux et aux yeux rouges.

Boucherville, Parc de la Frayère: Scarlet tanager, Blackpoll Warbler, Cape May Warbler, Common Yellowthroat. Everywhere, large numbers of Yellow-rumped warblers and Yellow warblers, 2 American redstart, Baltimore Orioles, Warbling Vireos, Red-eyed vireo, Eastern Kingbird, 2 White-crowned Sparrows, many Americna goldfinches , Common terns, 2 Pied-billed grebe, a Common Moorhen, a Northern Harrier, etc..


chemin des Artisans, I saw five male Bobolink

Parc de la Frayère: Piranga écarlate, Paruline rayée, Paruline tigrée, Paruline masquée. Partout, de grands nombres de Parulines à croupion jaune et de Parulines jaunes, Deux Parulines flamboyantes, Orioles de Baltimore, Viréos mélodieux, Viréo aux yeux rouges, Tyran tritri, deux Bruants à couronne blanche, beaucoup de Chardonnerets jaunes, des Sternes pierregarin, deux Grèbes à bec bigarré, une Gallinule poule-d'eau, un Busard Saint-Martin, etc.
