quai de Rivière-Ouelle (dock), (5:30 to 7:30): Red-throated Loon ... 220 (all in winter plumage, many on the water but many more in flight westward). Double-crested cormorant ... 25 (some very small groups, in flight to the east), Great Blue Heron ... 1 (in flight to the east), Snow Goose ... 50 (two on the water near the dock and some small groups flying west), Canada goose ... 25 (a dozen on the water not far from the dock, others in flight to the east), Green-winged teal ... 25 (three small groups flying west), Wood duck ... 5 (a single male plus a small group of 4 flying west), Black Duck ... 8 (couples and small groups (often with mallard) in flight mainly west), Mallard ... 14 (couples and small groups flying mainly eastward), Hybrid Mallard x Black ... 2 (2 males in flight eastward), Northern Pintail ... 30 (three groups flying east), Ring-necked duck ... 25 (a few small groups flying east), Lesser Scaup ... 1 (one male flying east), Common Eider ... 30 (a few small groups flying east), Long-tailed duck ... 7 (in two groups, flying eastward far off), Black Scoter ... 1100 (everywhere!), Surf Scoter ... 7 (single males in flight to the west), Common Goldeneye ... 14 (a few pairs and small groups in flight to the east), Barrow's goldeneye ... 2 (couple flying to the east just before the dock), Bufflehead ... 1 (male off shore), Common merganser ... 22 (couples or small groups flying east), Red-breasted merganser ... 20 (couples or small groups flying in both directions), Killdeer ... 4 (flying over the dock), Ring-Billed Gull ... 300, Herring Gull ... 30, Iceland Gull ... 12 (adult and immature), Great black-backed gull ... 12, Razorbill ... 3 (in a group, flying west)


Plongeon catmarin ...220 (tous en plumage d'hiver. Nombreux à l'eau mais encore plus en vol vers l'ouest au large).
