Sightings for Tuesday January 16th

Ile Sainte-Hélène, between the bus shelter and Pont de la Concorde: Black-throated Gray Warbler (Paruline grise), also in the area Hermit thrush (Grive solitaire), 4 or 5 White-throated sparrows (Bruants à gorge blanche), White-breasted nuthatch (Sitelle à poitrine blanche), Goldfinch (Chardonneret jaune), 2 Downy woodpeckers (Pics mineurs), 6 Chickadees (Mésanges à tête noire) 2 Cardinals (Cardinaux rouges), 10-12 Crows (Corneilles), House sparrows (Moineaux) Pigeons (Pigeon biset), Raven (Grand Corbeau)
In the mature woods: 2 Northern flickers (Pics flamboyants), 15 Robins (Merles d'Amérique), 2 dozen Cedar waxwings (Jaseurs d'Amérique), 3 Cardinals (Cardinaux rouges), and many Brown creepers (Grimpereaux bruns)
On the river: Common loon (Plongeon huard)

Bécancour industrial park: 4 Bald eagles (pygargues à tête blanche), 75 Mallards (Canards colverts), 12 Black ducks (Canards noirs), 2 Green-winged teals (sarcelles d'hiver), 1 Belted kingfisher (Martin-pêcheur d'Amérique), 1 Great blue heron (grand héron)

Chambly, Chambly basin. Snow goose (Oie des neiges), Canada geese (Bernaches du Canada), Double-crested cormorrant (Cormoran à aigrettes), 3 species of mergansers (3 espèces de harle), Wood duck (Canard branchu)

Varennes, exit 136 autoroute 30: Snowy Owl (Harfang des neiges)

Des Cèdres, route 338, near chemin Saint-Féréol: Snowy Owl (Harfang des neiges) in flight
