On Saturday we wrapped up this year's Summer Series of Birding with our annual outing to the eastern Ontario Sewage Lagoons. 10 people participated in this year's trip. The weather was great; sunny throughout the day. We changed the order of our 4 stops this year, starting in St-Isidore, then on to St-Albert and, after a lunch break, on to Embrun and finally Casselman. St-Isidore and Embrun proved to be the most productive of the four stops. Highlights of the day included 4 Red-necked Phalaropes and 2 Virginia Rail at St-Isidore; 3 American Bittern at St-Albert and 1 Ruddy Turnstone, 2 Baird's Sandpipers and 1 White-rumped Sandpiper at Embrun.
Thank you to those who joined us on the trip on Saturday. Also a big thank you to everyone who turned out over this summer's series of 9 field trips, including many new birders who joined in on the fun this summer. - Sheldon Harvey
