Sightings for Monday September 16

Montréal, Parc régional de l'Île-de-la-Visitation - Map
We had a migration of raptors and others, late morning and early afternoon at l'île de la Visitation Nature park. Osprey (1), Sharp-shinned (1), Red-shouldered (1), Bald Eagles (3), Turkey Vultures (5) & Broad-winged Hawk (72+). Kettles of 12, 15 & 42+ Broad-winged, seen flying high among the clouds over the chalet. This all began when we noticed high above the chalet a group of at least 100 Tree Swallows. Thanks to Myriam & Evelyn Samson for helping me. They counted while I was busy confirming the species.

Early in the park, we still have many warbler species (11sp). You just need to be patient to find them at this time of the year, and when you do it's 'showtime' because they arrive often in mix flocks!
