Bird Protection Quebec's Field Trip Report for May 19th

Cloudy with showers gradually turning absolutely miserable 4 observers. 43 species

American Bittern 2, Great. Blue Heron 1, Green Heron 1, Canada Goose 20, Wood Duck 11, Mallard 15, Virginia Rail 1, Common Moorhen 3, Ringbilled Gull 2, Common Tern 2, Black Tern 5, Belted Kingfisher 2, Northern Flicker 1, Pileated Woodpecker 2, Great Crested Flycatcher 6, Eastern Kingbird 1, Tree Swallow 25, Northern Rough-winged Swallow 4, Cliff Swallow 30, Blue Jay 6, American Crow 3, House Wren 2, Marsh Wren 5, American Robin 6, Gray Catbird 5, European Starling 6, Blue-headed Vireo 2, Warbling Vireo 2, Red-eyed Vireo 4, Yellow Warbler 12, American Redstart 3, Common Yellowthroat 12, Northern Cardinal 6, Rose-breasted Grosbeak 4, Chipping Sparrow 2, Song Sparrow 6, Swanp Sparrow 6, Red-winged Blackbird 24, Common Grackle 6, Brown-headed Cowbird 4, Baltimore Oriole 8, American Goldfinch 6, House Sparrow

When we first arrived at the grande passerelle, a small tree was festooned withs wallows which we would have guessed would be Trees but turned out to been entirely Cliff Swallows. We spotted the occasional Roughwing but later on four of them claimed the perch. Yesterday's Towhee failed to show itself
