Chateauguay, on Lac St-Louis: a lone male Red-breasted merganser (Harle Huppé)
rue Higgins: Red-bellied woodpecker (Pic à ventre roux) L. Simard, P. Simard - Northern Shrike (Pies-grièches grises), Eastern Towhee (Tohi à flancs roux). In the wetlands beside the levee, a Wilson's Snipe (Becassine de Wilson) was wading. Across the channel, some 100 Tree Swallows (Hirondelle bicolore) were swarming above the trees. Sylvia Wees
Maple Grove, Rue MacDonald: Mike Bristol picked out a pair of Barrow's Goldeneye (Garrot d'Islande), among the Common Goldeneye (Grand harle). An American Coot (Foulque d'Amérique), seemed to be shepherded about by an American Wigeon (canards d'Amérique) pair. The Snow Geese (oies des neiges), among the Ile de la Paix were spectacular. And we were closely observed by a River Otter and a Beaver. Sylvia Wees
