St-Lazare sand pits today an adult and immature Caspian Tern loafing with the gulls and viewable from Che Robert, parking is available in the soccer pitches car park.

From Che Poirier west of the pits there was an Olive-sided Flycatcher hawking insects from a dead snag. The bird was on the west side of the road, roughly midway between the Ski du Fond entrances where there is a slightly clearer area and obvious snags. I tried a few photos but it was a bit out of range, record shot son my blog later perhaps.

I've been checking out the Chemin de l'Anse at Vaudreuil regularly, the water is very high and will probably stay that way so no shorebirds there this year. - Mark Dennis
