Bird Protection Quebec Field trip for January 14th

Montreal, Botanical Gardens: Temperature of 6C but with heavy rain, fog and later threat of snow kept most people away this morning, but 5 brave and dedicated (some people might have other descriptive words) birders toured the gardens to see what the site had to offer. A total of 17 species was seen: Cooper's Hawk, a gull species (by the size, probably ring-billed), Rock Pigeon, Mourning Dove, Downy Woodpecker, Hairy Woodpecker, Am. Crow, Black-capped Chickadee, White-breasted Nuthatch, White-throated Sparrow, Dark-eyed Junco, Northern Cardinal, Pine Grosbeak, House Finch, Pine Siskin, American Goldfinch, House Sparrow
