Sightings for Saturday December 6th

Ste-Anne-De-Bellevue, McGill Bird Observatory (MBO)
Today, at just after noon, we had a migrating adult Golden Eagle (Aigle royal) going over the MBO, heading south-west. Whilst doing so the bird put up a large flock of geese. In the last few days the number of Canada's as has increased markedly to reach a little over 1500. Amongst them we have, so far, spotted two different Canadas with alphanumeric coded, orangy-red collars; namely, H1F1 and H7P7. We have sent the information off to CWS/USGS BBL and are awaiting info on their life histories. If anyone else has seen, or sees, any marked birds perhaps we can compare notes to see if we have more than two marked birds in the area. These geese possibly come from banding operations in the far north of Quebec, but if anybody as specific info I would appreciate hearing from them. - Bob Barnhurst

Beauharnois dam: Gulls – Herring, Ring-billed, Great black-backed, Iceland (first winter), Lesser black-backed gull
barrage de Beauharnois: Goélands argentés, à bec cerclé et marins, un Goéland arctique (de premier hiver?) et un Goéland brun adulte - Diane Demers

Montreal, Ile-Ste-Hélène: Black&white warbler near the étang de la Poudrière (pond)…also seen Gadwall, American wigeon, Mallard, Great black-backed gull, Raven, Crows, Brown creepers, Golden-crowned kinglets, Cooper’s hawk, Mourning doves, White-breasted nuthatch, Woodpeckers – Downy, Hairy, Flicker, Northern cardinal, Junco, Bluejay
Paruline noir et blanc est toujours presentes près de l`étang de la Poudrière...autres oiseaux plus commun pour cette saison: 2 Canard chipeaux, 4 Canard d`Amérique, 8 Canard colvert, 5 Goéland marin, 1 Grand Corbeau, 6 Corneilles, 8 Grimpereux brun, 3 Roitelet à couronne dorée, 1 Épervier de Cooper, 2 Tourterelles, 4 Sittelles à poitrine blanche, Pics (mineur, chevelus, 1 Flamboyant) un couple de Cardinal, 10 Junco, 1 Geai bleu - James Michaud

Boucherville, parc des îles de Boucherville: Long-eared owl on the Grand-duc trail
Hibou moyen-duc était présent cette PM dans le sentier du Grand-duc au parc des îles de Boucherville - Sébastien Rioux

Chambly, Chambly basin: Lesser black-backed gull on the island to the right of the warf not far from the left of the fort. Great black-backed gulls, Herring gulls, Ring-billed gulls
Goéland brun du bassin de Chambly soit sur le tout petit îlot tout près à droite du quai, pas très loin à gauche du Fort. Il côtoyait 6 marins, 3 argentés et de nombreux à bec cerclé - Stéphane Guimond

Saint-Pierre, Île d'Orléans: Northern hawk owl in front of Espace Félix-Leclerc, beside the Caisse Populaire
Chouette épervière est toujours présente à Saint-Pierre. Ce matin, elle était perchée dans un arbre dans le champ face à L'Espace Félix-Leclerc, à côté de la caisse populaire. many observers (Plusieurs observateurs)

Amqui, chemin "Au Soleil-d'or": Short-eared owl
