Sightings for Saturday December 20th

Lévis: Northern hawk owl – in a fallow field behind the hotel L’Oiselière, from hwy 20 take the exit for Lévis/Centre-ville. The bird was perch at the top of a conifer.
Chouette épervière présente là depuis quelques jours. Ça se situe dans un champ en jachère, juste à l’arrière de l’hôtel L’Oiselière à Lévis. Sur la 20, vous prenez la sortie Lévis/Centre-ville et l’hôtel est toute proche, facilement visible à partir de l’autoroute. Late afternoon Saturday December 20, Casselman Ont. In the area around Concession 17 and 19 bordered by Renard Rd. A Northern Shrike (Pie-grièche grise) almost let me get close enough for a good picture, 6 Grey Partridge flushed over the car, and the prize was a male Short-eared Owl (Hiboux des marais) who quartered over our vehicle and when I made some inane clicking sounds he actually turned around for a return run and I got some nice exposures. Snowy owls (Harfangs des neiges) were also seen - George Palagian
