Sightings for Wednesday February 22nd

There are still 2 Snowy Owls (harfangs des neiges) in the St-Clet area. The easiest to find is a male which I see in the same spot on most recent visits. Off the 201 going north from St-Clet take Ste-Julie. At the end go right and continue 100m to the first ditch on the right. The bird favours the lump of snow in the corner of the field to the left of the road where the fence ends. The snow is rapidly disappearing and I expect that they will all be off to pastures white pretty soon. - Mark Dennis

Mirabel: rang St Dominic - more than a hundred Snow buntings, a dozen Horned larks and four beautiful Gray partridge on the roadside.

rang Ste-Marie - I saw a female Snowy owl in the middle of the field looking towards Highway 15. Few dozen Snow buntings, ten Horned larks and again four beautiful Gray partridge beside the road.

- Michel Juteau
