Bird Protection Quebec "Field Trip Report" October 11

The field trip to Refuge Faunique Marguerite D’Youville in Chateauguay had 13 participants on a cool morning 5 C, with 2 or 3 light showers lasting only a few minutes each, but thankfully no wind. With the calm water we expected a few more duck species than were seen. Although we did manage to see 6 Red-necked grebes and 6 Loons, which were considered to be the birds of the day. The find of the day was a Virginia rale seen by a few of us, that was found by Sylvie Vanier.
