Boucherville: This morning, I birded Parc de la Frayère on the south shore near Varennes. I had 40 species, highlights including Red-eyed and Blue-headed Vireos, a Magnolia Warbler, 3 Hermit Thrushes, both Kinglets, Winter Wren, lots of sparrows, particularly White-throated Sparrows but also Song, Swamp and one White-crowned, and a Pine Siskin. Of interest to me were the Winter Wrens as I had a total of 6 in 3 separate sightings-more than I have ever had in one place. There were also good numbers of American Robin, Cedar Waxwing and Yellow-rumped Warbler. On the river, for ducks, I could only find Mallards while in the adjacent pond, there were 22 Green-winged Teal, a few Mallards and two Pied-billed Grebes.

Montréal: This afternoon, however, while jogging along the Lachine Canal, I saw 4 American Wigeons in the Peel Basin. - Charlie Nims
