Sightings for Saturday February 28th

St-Clet: Northern Hawk Owl (Chouette épervière) just off highway 201 north of St-Clet along Chemin Fief this afternoon. The owl was in trees behind the farm at number 2364. Chemin Fief is reached either from Chemin Ste-Angelique in St-Lazare or off highway 201 3km south of junction 17 of highway 40 (Hudson Inn exit) - Mark Dennis

Dorval: Great Horned Owl (Grand-duc d'Amérique) in a tall tree just south of Highway 20 in Dorval (near Sources) about noon to-day. My attention was drawn to the tree by the noise created by the 70 + American crows (Corneille d'Amérique) that were mobbing him(or her). He stayed there for about 15 minutes during which time he was often hit by some of the dive bombing crows. Finally took off heading south with a number of the crows in pursuit - Lynda

Sainte-Brigide, 11ième rang: 2 Short-eared owls about 200m from the intersection of chemins Lebeau & Delorme. Coming from Montreal the best way to get there is to follow the signs for Parachutisme Nouvel Air
- Claude Lalande
